When Poorvaja entered and WON our Motherland poetry competition, she was a high school student doing her first-year IB diploma course. She lived for eight years in the United States, before moving to India with her parents. Her passions are reading, writing and history. World famous poet and comptition judge Maureen Duffy said, ‘I particularly liked Poorvaja's imaginative use of language and imagery.’
Poorvaja won first prize in the FANTASTIC MOTHERLAND POETRY COMPETITION 2013 with her incredible and insightful poem 'India'.
