James Flynn had the idea for Captain Theo after his nephew was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. This book is one of the ways he helps the children’s cancer unit of the Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle upon Tyne, where his nephew was treated.
